Maggie in Milwaukie. Life on the end of a chain ends 3/8 because of the new law!
| ||||
First things first. Isn't Maggie AMAZINGLY beautiful? She is an 8 year old chow/golden girl, and a referral from the Oregon Humane Society. We are so grateful she was found, and that her family warmly embraced our help because Maggie has lived her entire life on the end of a short chain, 24 hours a day, but thanks to the new law, her life changes on March 8th! For a variety of reasons, Maggie lives outside, but her person loves Maggie, and as a school bus driver, without reliable transportation or extra income she has struggled to provide Maggie the freedom she very much deserves. But ... Maggie's person recognized kindness as soon as she felt it, and in fact she regularly makes blankets for cancer patients with donated fabric, and so she appreciates the special gift that FFF is offering to her, and especially to Maggie. This golden girl loves children but is a little shy and cautious of adults which makes sense since most of her life has been on the end of a chain. And, while she didn't have a dog house until we were notified, we are happy to report that she is slowly getting closer to her dog house. This funny little girl doesn't care much for small enclosures, and so for most of her life she has slept outside, without any real shelter or significant protection from the elements because she just didn't feel comfortable in a tiny enclosure. But, Maggie had never known a FFF doghouse, until now. And, from what we hear she's getting closer to actually sleeping inside her new warm, roomy dog house. So, please join us for what we know will be a pretty special day in Milwaukie. Much appreciation, Kelly, Jerry, and Brian Grubb.
